I'd like to ask what to do in the event that I screw up (or someone else screws up before me), and forget a sealing locknut or other method to waterproof an entry to an enclosure. Does anyone know of any method to retrofit a waterproofing onto the conduit entry? I know about surrounding the entry with silicone or a similar substance. Is that an acceptable method to preserve the NEMA rating? Are there any more robust solutions?

UL tells me they have had many customers pay them to test the use of silicone sealant in such a manner and it always fails their tests.

However, this might work.
