There are T5 and T5HO, but the 54W HO is the most common. T5HOs are mostly used in high bays or indirect fixtures.

T8s come in two flavors too but 28 and 32W 48" standard output are the most common. T8s are mostly used for indoor low ceiling. T8 HOs are rare.

Standard output T5s are used when you need something slimmer than T8.
