RGS and Height

How would you handle this situation? Top of panel is about 6'. Spec says to use RGS below 7'6" so I'd have about 1' 6" of RGS. Would you really transition( think you'd be help to it for that short of a distance), use RGS for the entire run, write RFI or just run EMT the entire way. The area I'm referencing is not main switchgear room.

It depends. If I thought the Engineer was the type to really mean this, I would either write and RFI, or offer either an adder or a deduct on the bid proposal form. In many cases, I am familiar with the Engineer and know they don't really mean it above panels and I would just put a clarification in the exclusions. In no case would I believe this is something the customer would want to pay for.

The conduit can't go straight up forever....just transition where the conduit turns, of if it is going up more than 10' transition at the end of the first stick of rigid.

The 7'6" is pretty boiler plate for things like mechanical or machine rooms. We would just buy 18" or 24" RMC nipples to come out of the panel then transition to EMT.
