I recently had an inspection fail because I had installed schedule 40 PVC RNC for the line side of the meter can and as a nipple between the meter can (600a( and the main disconnect ( 600a 2p CB). The conduit come underground and turn up along the wall where the meter can and disconnect are mounted. The area in front of this equipment will be a concrete sidewalk.
The inspector wants me to replace the sch 40 with sch 80 PVC for the conduits entering the meter can and he wants a ridgid galvanized nipple between the meter can and disconnect(along with grounding bushings).
Other than a concern for physical damage, which I do not believe is the case since there is a concrete sidewalk, is there some other code section that prohibits my instaslltion as stated above?
