Rigid conduit to AC Condenser

Is there a requirement that outdoor AC condenser units be connected with LFNMC or LFMC rather than rigid, EMT, or PVC? Or is this just because it's much easier?

It's not like you're moving it around once it's set in place, why wouldn't you hard pipe it? A lot of flex I see run to condensers has come loose on at least one end.

Flexible conduit is preferred. It is not required. Yes, it is easier, but it also keeps vibration transfer to a minimum.

Along with what smart has mentioned many of the curbs they sit on are spring loaded even if they do not look it. So the unit can move relative to the roof around it.
