Riser right into trough

What is common practice when you need to bring an overhead service into a trough and them tap off for each meter? Could you bring a riser right down into the trough, and then splice inside the trough? I know its common with underground services but not sure about overhead

Sure it is we do it all the time here , they also sell multi gang meter pans where u can just tie into the bus

Generally I would use a multi gang meter, but if you need separate meters for some reason, sure a 3R wireway works. Another option is a "bussed gutter". Just make sure POCO approves. It will almost certainly need locking provisions.
