RMC 90's not 90

And make sure when making measurements, install it with the same end that you measured it. Lol

Seriously tho most of them seem to be quite a bit shy of 90. I have noticed this in the past. This one I got from a supply house. I just went to big orange and looked at all 10 they had. 8 were all the same 76 degrees or whatever just like the one from the supply house. Only two were real close, one being a hair over and the other a hair under.

76??? o_O Could you have meant 86?

I installed a 2 1/2 " mallable LT, one end was not threaded straight, had to install, not able to get replacement. It was along side a panel, very noticeable.

I was back at the house today where I used the 90s a little while back. Sure enough, I didn't even notice but the one going above the roof line is not 90° - It was so hot that day I just wanted to get gone

I guess we should start calling them 88s
🙄🙄🙄

Rigid metal conduit factory 90's being significantly shy of 90 degrees and making your installation look like crap so you have to go out and track down a 90 that isn't junk race to the bottom imported crap.
It is an issue with RMC 90° elbows. A while ago I ran some 3" RMC for a fire pump disconnect and I couldn't get the horizontal pipe level and the vertical pipe plumb. Was off about 2°. Had to cheat the horizontal to make it look decent. Sometimes if you back off a 1/4 turn in the couplings you can fudge it with the slop in the couplings.

Wow. I thought it sucked that PVC 90's were alway off a few degrees. Now that crappy standard has fallen upon RMC? So what do we do, turn into iron workers and heat one side of the bend with a torch and cool the other side with rags and ice water?? That does work, but I don't think we should have to change trades because of crappy manufacturing.
