I usually install either a small piece of 3/4" plywood on the block walls or a piece of 2x4 or 2x6 in order to staple the wire into the panel.gfnasin said:In an unfinished basement you shall run romax smaller than 6-2 or 8-3 through bored holes and protected if run down the walls. There is nothing stating if it is legal to run down when tying into a panel. What is the proper procedure for that
No, just asking where he came up with that statement. It certainly doesn't mirror the NEC very well. I thought it was either copied and pasted from a local amendment or the Wiring 1-2-3 book. There are certainly other ways to run cables overhead smaller than 6-2 or 8-3 other than just running them through bored holes.Dennis Alwon said:Marc are you trying to scare the newbie away?

We sometimes do that with sheet metal to hide MC cables.
