Is sounds like you might, but is the cost savings over MC worth making an oops! and the apprentice or J-man uses it in a rated wall?

Just as an aside, in NJ this occupancy would require sprinklers and a fire alarm system. The fire alarm system has to be able to kill the sound system and turn on the lights in the event of a fire alarm signal sent to the panel.

I would say no to that, because it would create a potential ignition source *inside* the protected space.
If there were any office space separated from the public areas by a fire rated wall, then I might say yes for its other walls.
