careful with 358.10 b. the end of the last sentence says"judged suitable for the conditions". Bet the inspector is the one who will do the judging. I for one wouldnt use emt this way . Just my preference. I would use pvc or rmc/imc.

Look at the wording. OR in areas subject to severe corrosive influence........ My take on this is if it were installed in a location that would have corrosive properties such as a metal plating shop that would use chemicals for cleaning metals and such. Then it would be judged as having suitable protection.
Yes, my preference would have been PVC also but.... HO bought it so if it is code and makes him happy so be it.
