Rooftop AC Units

What methods are out there for mounting required receptacle and disconnect on a flat roof with wood framing construction? I do mostly residential work, so this is a new one for me. The HVAC contractor has made roof penetrations with some sort of conical device and then tarred the heck out of it. Gonna ask if I can use the same route, but what to mount the equipment to? The condensing units themselves? Unistrut?

Where possible, most folks here try to pull their 120v circuit through the same conduit as the RTU circuit and mount the GFCI tot he unit...often under the disconnecting means if it's separate.
