Keep the dust down

Keep the dust down

Use water on the blade to keep the dust down. dewalt cordless vac as you are cutting is the bomb. Tile is messy get over it.

Dust...

Dust...

Best for keeping dust down and working with cutting tools in occupied environment.....

http://www.feinus.com/p/newdustfree/New-91155.htm Dang pricey, but it turns on when you turn on your tool and waits a few after you turn it off - automatically! Got one in the truck....

Same thing - more ergo - equally pricey and Lamborghini styled for a shop vac - http://www.festoolusa.com/pages.aspx?docid=793 (Seriously wish that some tool manufacturer catered to us in this way like Festool does for cab guys.)

Oh BTW this actually kicks butt for cab, plaster and tile cut-outs - equally pricey..... About $200 - but blades run for $25 -$50ea!

That fein tool looks awesome

That fein tool looks awesome

I just bought the bosch 1640vs fine cut. It works good for cutting moldings in tight spots. Especially when installing new flooring where you need a tight close cut under the door jambs. The Fein tool looks much more versatile for electrical work. Nice videos I am going to go check out the price now ouch .

It is a an absolute dream to work with (I borrow one if available from carpenters on-site when ever possible - very popular in finish carpentry these days...) - it sort of just'melts' into wood and other materials with a pretty thin 16th" kerf. And the diamond blade (little thicker) is far superior to a grinder in terms of dust on tile etc. I have been wanting to get one - but the blade cost is hard to swallow. They also make a more industrial powered "Super-Cut" at nearly $1K! (50% of that cost is the blades that come with the kit.) Big deal it cuts faster (longer stroke not suitable to some finished work anyway...) - the "Multi-master" tool doesn't cut fast per say, but fast enough using simular equally expensive blades....

And FYI - I know some guys who have boot-legged pieces of japanese saws to old worn Fein wood blades with a spot weld or two and they seem to work just fine.... And be wary of the on going joke of borrowing that fine tool of yours.....
