I know dumb question. If you had these receptacles on same wall but had columns between them I'd imagine it would just be easier to drop down to each one from ceiling instead of wrapping column?

Assuming you would need to bend around the columns anywhere below structural ceiling, the height to structural ( not drop) would affect cost of labor and material.
