I have roof top unit with MOCP and MCA. Where does NEC 2014 section 440 says I need to have my breaker size per MOCP and cable size per MCA?
Your answer is right in your post
MOCP = MaxOverCurrentProtection
MCA = MinimumCircuitAmpacity
You need to sit down and read 440. It plainly states all that you ask. It starts out saying the mfg is required to put that info on the nameplate. Later it explains how the nameplate info is determined. You may run into a situation (not often) where the info is not on the nameplate. Then you would have to use what is described in how to determine nameplate info.Yea but where is it in the NEC 2014 section 440? Nothing like MOCP and MCA
I, nor anyone, has mentioned "A" or "B". We said 440. You've been told to read 440 and that we are to follow the nameplate. As a reviewer, all you need to confirm is that either the nameplate info is followed or the circuit conductors and OCP are sized according to the requirements of how they are determined. In almost all the cases, the info will be on the nameplate. If not, go back to the designer/plan submitter.Right I see that 440.4(B) Not 440.4(A)? 440.4(A) says nothing about MOCP MCA?
