Just wanted some opinions from you guys on best way you’d do this. The electric company ended up doing the underground feed about 12 ft away frim where the panel is going. I cannot put the panel where the meter is is going.
Would you just run the wire through the 2x6’s to the panel or put it in conduit? 2” conduit hole would be just a tad over the 40% cut out allowed so it’d have to be smaller which would be a pain to feed it because of a couple bends.

No i spections where I am but I still follow code.

The wall will be sheetrocked eventually. I’ve never had to run the se cable that far inside so figured I’d ask.

Thanks!

That would not be compliant however you could run the conduit on the outside and then enter directly into the panel.

Sorry I forgot to mention the main panel was inside. I was thinking about that option also but would rather keep it inside. Thank you

You said SER so assuming that this is a feeder it can be run through the studs

Yes it is. Thank you. I figured conduit would be overkill here. Just wanted to verify.
First you said se cable then you added that you cannot put the panel where the meter is located, and then you said the main panel is inside.

Please explain what you have. Is there a main disconnect outside next to the meter? or perhaps a meter/main?

I'm thinking he means where the meter is going, he can't place the inside panel where it would be back to back.

It doesn't sound like this is a feeder. This sounds like service entrance. He would need to hit the disconnect 'nearest the point of entrance'. Can he justify the nearest point of entry to be 12' away??

I don't know, he said it was a feeder.

Let's clear this up. Does the wire go directly from the meter to the Main Panel or is there a service disconnect in between?
