Running MC and changing over to EMT

I know here in PA Hanover area an inspector turned down transformer flex installs because we were using emt to emt connector to rigid coupling to flex connectors. We had to start using condulet "C" fittings to transfer from emt to flex. Reason I got was the inside of the rigid coupling was not smooth when it transitioned from the fittings.

The problem that the inspector is referring to is that taking a threaded coupling and then screwing a connector to its end is NOT a listed way of connecting the two wiring methods.
Only a connector designed for the application is acceptable.

Note: Often times there is to much exposed internal threads in the coupling that could cause damage to conductors.

And probabaly violated as often as the old 55 MPH speed limit.

How? It's not like there are spikes sticking up inside the coupling. They are just threads. I have run my fingers inside of ridged couplings hundreds of times, no damage to my skin, ever; and I am a tender fellow. I don't think it would be any different for conductors.

WHAT...you a tender fellow..say it ain't so.....say it ain't so.....

I think that Section 300.12 "Mechanical Continuity - Raceways and Cables" is what the inspector may be looking at:

"Mertalic or nonmetalic raceways, cable armors, and jacket sheaths shall be continuous between cabinets, boxes, fitings, or other enclosures or outlets."

If this is the case then the use of the fitting to change between wiring methods would be OK (in my opinion).

You can also look at 300.15 - too long to type in here.

I do not see a issue with what the op is stating. The conductors of MC are proper and rated
