If you had s new construction with metal deck and poured slab do you think labor installing riser conduits would be different if you were running through a closet or through shaft/slot? Don't see how it would make a difference.....it would just be an opening in either case.

A hole is a hole, shouldn't matter if you're running the risers after the pour through a slot.

I am not familiar with the installation you are talking about. Core drilling and where those cords can be drilled if in a tension slab can be a fairly significant cost

BTW is there metal deck within that slab? How was that opening created? Formed out? Thanks

No metal Q-deck just forms, rebar, and concrete. The slots we're boxed out before the deck was poured. We had several locations where they were incorrect and didn't align with the floor above. Estimate called for straight pipe....:slaphead:

Shouldn't that be a change order?

I would think so but that's not my department, I just get to run the EMT but I cannot take credit for these bends, they all were made by my apprentice. :)

I believe that in photo #2 you can see that there are about 30 conduits that needed to be offset about 3'. Here's a shot of a few floors above, same problem this time a 5' offset. Framing carpenter did all of the layout for the slab penetrations. I hope that my boss got paid for this extra work.
