Safety of twist on wire connectors aka "wire nuts"

I do not pre-twist stranded conductors.
I do pre-twist solid conductors.

What says you experts?
This expert (no longer a pert?) says that it depends.

If the wires will stay together without twisting, I usually don't bother.

Larger stranded wires each get twisted, then added to the rest.

Small stranded wires get twisted into one larger wire, then added to the rest.

You mean like taping them and their UL listing? LMAO

Yeah, taping is the same. You’ll get an equal number of people on each side and neither will be convinced the other is right.
Not sure where you’re heading on the listing part. They either are or they aren’t. There’s no debating that.
