What type of companies work with/modify/install these?

Couple projects I'm bidding they have an additive bid item to integrate with an existing SCADA, or install a new one.

I just don't bother with it in the SOW I bid, but I have been asked about it. All I can reply is "Dunno, looks like computer stuff to me". 🤣

It is like an electrical building management system. SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition)

All major electrical equipment manufacturers make it, along with lots of smaller companies.

I assumed it was specific companies that specialize in that.

Most of you guys sub it in your SOW, or just let the owner or GC figure it out? I don't really want to get involved with it, I just like my wires and my underground and my conduit. I don't want to mess with that. (y) :D

It is often sub'ed out, but the pathway (tray or conduit) is installed by the electrical Contractor.

On the two I bid I’m installing all the TSP from the pump control panels, to the PLCs or into the control rooms.

I would just prefer not to get involved with SCADA, unless this is something that is standard or expected for the EC to do.

SCADA is just a way to control different pumps, motors, and solenoids. Programming is usually done by someone else and you would be landing power and maybe some control wires. It wouldn't be much different than what you do with transfer switches.
What you described is often what I see a BMS do. A SCADA is often monitoring and control of electrical equipment such as switchgear breaker open/closed based on sequence of operations

Yep, really depends on what the customer has in mind. I specialize in DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management), and have done manufacturing in a previous lifetime (National Instruments "Lookout", specifically). SCADA is a sort of umbrella term, and both the industry and the manufacturers involved will have both generalist and specialized software. If you want some specific examples of either mfr or software, let us know what your bids are dealing with, and I or others may be able to send suggestions.
