Whether a dedicated circuit is required or not is moot because you have connected the receptacle to a 20 amp circuit.

Yeah I wasn't really considering that. I decided yesterday to go out and run the new 15a circuit. Driving time was double the install time. I hate that

Side note - I forgot to take 14-2 with me so I had to run the circuit in 12-2. Then I put on a 15 amp breaker LOL

The literature says that MaxOCPD is 15 amps.

It also said the minimum circuit ampacity is a cord

It does say 1965 BTU/hr. You still have to assume efficiency and incoming water temp though.
