Service on detached garage 20 feet from manufactured home, in sight from disconect less than 30 feet.

2" pvc from service to mfg home underground 15'.

4/0 SER in the conduit as a feeder to the mfg home.

Inspector says can't run SER in conduit under ground.

Is the inspector correct?

Re: se cable feeder

The inspector is right. SE is for aboveground installation. USE is for underground. Also, PVC should be buried 18".

Re: se cable feeder

Oh and you can`t take the SER out stip cable raceway and re pull it.The wire inside SER has no listing printed on it,the cable assy did. So it can`t be used in conduit ;) Like Paul said 18 in min :p

Re: se cable feeder

found answer in the "white book"

"Type SE - cable for above ground installation."
