In class 1 division 1 area when sealing a non factory sealed soleniod with a sealoff; would the explosion proof guac fitting be installed on the soleniod first and then the sealoff or would the sealoff be placed first and then the guac fitting.

When installing a sealoff, one should always consider how the equipment may be removed or replaced. I have often seen people install a sealoff between the solenoid and the x-proof jb. So seal the conductors and you cannot change out the coil.

I also have seen installations where there is a sealoff below the x-proof jb and below the sealoff is a union. So again, how could one change out the jb (if necessary) without destroying the seal (and probably the conductors).

When installing sealoffs and unions, thinking is involved.
