Hi everyone,

i have a question in regards to the use of nonmetallic and metallic conduit in class 2 div 2 environments.

we have sent out a machine specification for bid and awarded the contract.
the machine is now built and i have just looked at it.

the contractor used general purpose tee's and lb's comming out of a nema 4 wiretrough to connect sealtite to the enclosures, junction boxes, and motors.

section 350 and 352 are for sealtite and each says that sealtite can be used
as permitted by 502.10. 502.10(b) refers to class 2, div 2 locations and no where do i find that sealtite is permitted.

Have i missed something or am i totally off base?
i have to submit a report and i do not want to say the sealtite is not acceptable when it is.

my experience with classified areas is limited and would appreciate any help.

thanks in advance,
james.

As a general rule, any wiring method permitted in Division 1, of a classified location is also permitted in Division 2 of the same Class. See Sections 502.10(B)(1)(1) and 502.10(B)(2) they will redirect you to the appropriate Division 1 Sections.

Edit; Corrected the refernces to Article 502. (old habits die hard)
