Securing NM

is there any way to secure nm to concrete?....its underneath the house, but it was an addition, at one time it was a porch and it was turned into a sunroom...anyway, i can fish up the walls, just curious is there any way to legally secure nm to concrete, besides pipe...its not subject to any physical damage

If you have a few cables to run you can nail a board 1X3 or 1X4 to the wall with a Hilti or ramset. Then just use your nm staples to support your cable on the board.

shoot a 2x to the concrete. or go with tyraps.

Sure, anyway you want, as long as its supported. I can shoot a 2x up pretty quick though.

I use the Minerallac MED-2 for one flat romex, and the MED-3 for 2 flat romexes stacked on top of each other.

I bet I can still shoot a 2x up faster than you can install those clips. And I can use stack-its after the fact. A whole lot of wires supported and little labor involved.

Not a doubt in my mind. First, you'd have to find a pressure treated 2x. I keep the straps in a little jar, but I can't keep lumber in a little jar. You can also bang the nail of a Stacker into a #6 Rawl plug.

I know where your coming from, but I wouldnt have to find anything because I know where i'm going the next day and know what I need, so the PT 2x would be on my truck in the morning, along with the hilti gun. :grin: BUT, in a pinch, I would just use those NM straps and rawls.
