Security Light Question

Ok, question......on an outside security light with a photo eye, if the bulb is blown then does it pull any current?? I said no at this discussion but I don't like not to be 100% correct:grin: . So I wanted to make sure. I figure if the bulb is blown there should be no load thus no current should be consumed????

You still have whatever current the ballast is wasting. Few watts, at least, if the lamp is out.

You have three parts, the eye and the element, plus the distance to get there. The service is hot to point of usage.

Yah, the more I thought about it the idea of the ballast starting making me wonder so that's why I wanted to make sure, glad I did because once again you guys have showed me the way!!:grin:
