I wrote a note to an insurance agent informing them that their client had refused a badly needed service change. I had made a temp repair during an ice storm while the trees and power lines were still breaking around us. After the storm she refused to have any more work done by anyone, not just me. She was not a happy woman. I did not care.

As a HVAC journeyman, if while troubleshooting a heater with a cracked heat exchanger, or a faulty/leaking gas valve, it is my obligation to disable the furnace. I then note said danger on my invoice with an accompanying bid for the repair, signed by the customer. By this prudent procedure, I have done my do diligence and should be held harmless.

Likewise, if I note a safety issue with a customer's electrical wiring, I also note it on my invoice and bid. However, I have yet to disable anyone's electrical service.

Anytime i've been called to repair and fix parking lot lighting, I've had to custom make the covers--nothing seems to work on them. Although i see the owner's maintainance workers using duct tap a lot !!!!!

When i see an Electrical Contractor's truck speeding i always figure they are ontheir way to repair a REAL dangerous life threatening problem- which makes the speeding ligit !
