We have been required to retrofit fixtures with self-testing emergency ballasts having an indicator light and audible alarm. Bodine B50ST has this, but we would need to mount the ballast on top, which their literature says can be done. Does anyone have experence with this and can you hear the buzzer? It's in a corridor with T-bar ceiling.

NVCAPE, I just got off "bodine.com" and saw the b50st. It had all the info you could possibly need.Bodine states that the alarm is field adjustable and the red test light indicator will flash until the unit has been brought back to normal.Top mounting the ballast is no big deal, the alarm etc. I have not installed.

What a great idea, :) we install a lot of these battery ballast equipped fixtures but all have had to be manually tested and lets face it no one is going to do that.
