Alright everyone,

55 year old electrician here, been in the trade for 30+ years but finding all this internet marketing really difficult. Used to rely on word of mouth for most jobs but it's not what it used to be. For my business anyway. Been checking out these SEO companies such as Electrician SEO Pro. Anyone had experience with them or others you'd suggest? Or any advice for getting better local rankings? Anyone else struggling with this? Did you work it out on your own or get someone in?

Thanks you all in advance,

Tim

I would look long at hard at any SEO company before giving them money. Many feel that the SEO concept is a scam because it doesn't really work due to shifting algorithms.

Years ago my friend hired an SEO company for $15k for their Internet business and they didn't boost their sales at all. I'm not sure if modern SEO companies are any better.

Paying for Google Ads might be a better way to go.

Before I (semi) retired, I had to turn work down because I couldn't get to it, and I had no website. I still turn work down but only because I don't want to do it!:)

Just have ChatGPT do all your marketing. You don’t need to pay these people digital media. People are going to be on the wayside soon.
Interesting. Have you had much success with this? Have used ChatGPT a little bit but seems to be a lot of moving parts in terms of the amount of places you can market these days on the web, unsure whats worth my time

Damn that is bonkers. Thanks for the heads up on that one. Something to think about for sure

It’s a hard thing- I think one way- most people think another way lol- I never go off google reviews there completely fabricated I can pay to have 3k reviews or pay to have my competitor of 1 star. It’s a giant scam-
People believe those reviews though I “think”
I honestly think we are going the wayside as a trade ,in residential and light Commerical-
Once a home is wired- service work is going to the handyman or homeowner who thinks they can do all——-
I am trying to go a different route with my company—-
Plus dealing the the general public is terrible—— most are nice but they want stuff so cheap——
Plus with how dumb the general population is compared to several generations before that could actually do most of there own work competently—- they look at you crossed eyed or mad that you have to fix there mess up——
But those same morons would never dream of fixing there roof- cause of the damage that can happen——- they feel are trade is easier—-
I am Ranting, but man try and branch into a field with less morons is my point I guess, either way I understand what your going through

This forum: mods take my post down calling it out instead.
