I will be installing a 120v 20a circuit to an exterior gas fireplace. Feed will be a 3/4" schedule 40 PVC conduit in a trench 20" deep to meet the 18" depth requirement. Plumbers will also be installing a gas line in the same trench. Is there a spacing requirement from electric and gas?
Thank You in advance.

Oh, Good point, I have been in trenches before, for a repair and had to deal with conduits and pipes all bunched together.
Do you think this may be an AHJ call or a specific rule from the local municipality.? an electrical contractor showed up on my job today and stated a 6" separation requirement.?

thanks

Sometimes utilities will have specs on this, but that would be for their conductors, and they have no control over things on the customer side of things. could be some local requirement, but I would think it is more likely what you heard is hogwash. I think I hear more things on the job site that aren't true than are true
