Hi
Is GFCI protection now required for a septic pump receptacle and also if it is hardwired?
I am looking at NEC 2020 artcile 422.5 A6 which list sump pumps?

I don't see such requirement for septic pumps (we differentiate sump pumps from septic pumps)
That said, every septic pump I inspected had been outdoors and thus the receptacle is GFCI protected.

I have a septic pump at my house. It's hardwired and 15 ft down in the tank.
I don't see any reason for it to be GFCI protected, nor would I want it to be.

I just wired one and it stated in the instructions not to install GFCI protection.
