can i put ser cable in conduit to protect it. it will only be about 6 ft of the 20 ft length.

Do you mean the same size? No but you can get ser with a full size neutral/ground. Be very carefull here-- what size is the bare conductor? and what size are your phase conductors?

That's plenty (for 150a if aluminum), unless you have zero line-to-line loads.
