Hello, I am working on a multifamily project, and could use some clarification about the unit feeders.
The meter stacks are located on the ground level, in an electric room, in the parking structure, which is a class II concrete podium; with wood framing on the floor above where the units are located.
I would like to run SER to each of the units, and sleeve the cable through the garage and connect the conduit to the meter enclosure. On the other end of the conduit, i figured on using a choke and securing the cable and conduit with 12 inches of the transition.
The runs of conduit range from 12' to 50'.
The subject of my inquiry is that the Project Manager and Foremen are reporting that SER can not be installed in conduit.
Naturally, they do not remember what article was sighted, just that it had something to do with heat. ????
Any clarification would be appreciated.
Thanks
Kevin
