service calcs for commercial building

Strange as it is their is no NEC watt p/foot for general office buildings. Maybe someone here can help explain why?

3-1/2 va/sq foot + 1 va/sq foot for receptacles + all other equipment + fudge factor + growth.

I'm sure others can add to this list:)

I've always questioned 1va/sq.ft. for office receptacles. That comes out to be less than 1 receptacle for a 100 square foot office. I usually put one on each wall, or about 360va after diversity.

It might match utility demand values, but I find it short when I start counting actual receptacles in an office building.
