I was going to submit a Public Input to remove the first reference to 230.6 in section 695.6(A)(1) but the section has been revised and relocated in the 2026 code. 230.6 is no longer referenced so, no need for a PI.

You understand my concern exactly! And thanks for the info about the NEC 2026 Code update! I was trying to check if 2023 NEC has updated language that is clearer which turns out NEC 2023 has the same language with 2020 & 2017 RE. the fire pump supply conductors. But I didn't check the 2026 code.

Below is the screenshot of NEC 2026 for your reference. My concern was reasonable. It updates the language and removes the reference to 230.6.

Just to clarify that the provisions of 230.6 may be used to allow the conductors to be considered outside. Article 230 is only about services, so they need to specifically state that 230.6 can be used for article 695 conductors.

I understand what you are saying. But the first reference of 230.6 should not be there and they should only reference the 230.6 in the last sentence. See don_resqcapt19 's reply and my latest reply for NEC 2026 language.
