We are in a situation where a new building is being added to our property. The utility insists that we back-feed an existing building. The existing service cables are in conduit and buried. Can I splice onto the existing cables? If so, how is this accomplished? We'd rather not pull new cables since the new building is some 600 feet away and the logistics make it seem rather impossible. Thank you.

if its URD just cut the conduit and bush it, then use an underground splice kit and direct bury the rest of the run, If its something that cant be direct buried, you would need to use a hand hole...

You may be able to go back to the transformer location, set a double lug meter at that point (along with a disconnect?), and then add the new work (and trench from there). Ground wires may also be an issue.
