Hello..
Hypothetical for now but for my head..
Two family house with two meters (or 3), under 200 amp calculated load.
Service drop on house will be 3/0 cu
two (or 3) - 100 amp main panels will be 2 al
GEC ?? do I have this right? If it is a meter stack and all the main breakers are in the stack and neutral is common, it would require one #4 for the gec ?
If the drop came to a trough and bugged to two (or 3) separate meters, at the first OCP for each panel will be #8 (or 6)cu gec ? (if I didn't have irreversible connection for egc)
Will the egc which is to be determined from service conductor size be determined by the 3/0 cu service drop or the #2 al tap conductors?
lastly, I'm not sure if my utility is now requiring meter stacks, but if the trough goes in and meters are tapped from the 3/0. would 3/0 need to be the tapped conductor size thru the meter to the first OC protection device or would 2al (4cu) get tapped to the 3/0 cu drop thru the meter to the first ocp ?
One more...
If two (or 3) separate gec's are brought back to the grounding electrode (water) if they were brought to the LINE side of the meter (water in from street) would the meter jumper need to be #4cu or#8 (or6) cu?
thank you
