service drop conductors touching roof

If the conductors are touching the roof, wind movement could cause the insulation to abrade, have seen it happen.
Judging by how old the deck looks, and just the general appearance, I bet the addition isn't that new, I bet there is already some wear on the insulation.
 
It's difficult to see from the photo but take a look at where the POCO triplex originates. If it originates on the utility pole where the the xfmr. is, you may be able to request the POCO to make a mid-span connection so that it doesn't cross over the roof of the addition. Depending on the POCO requirements in your area, usually the sag in the triplex over the property can't be less than 12'. So, changing the mast height is probably the way to go as others have suggested. Also, purely as a temporary "band-aid" type cure until you actually do the upgrade, I would use a 12" piece of non-metallic PVC, cut a slit in it and sleeve it over the triplex where it hits the roof. :cool:
