Is there anything that would prevent me from doing the following.
I priced out a new service and bought the materials with the intention of using 2" EMT for the service mast and 2/0 Cu for the Service Entrance Conductors on a 200 Amp service. There is an existing 100 Amp service with no Conduit. SE cable is run through the back of the existing meter socket, through the wall above the sill in the basement.
It was my intent to continue my run of 2" EMT from the bottom of the meter socket through and SLB and then through the concrete foundation. I priced the job with a concrete cutting company at $225.00. The customer does not want to pay the additional charge which was not on the estimate.
Can I switch over to AL SE Cable in the meter socket to run into the house with the 2/0 Cu in the service mast? Anyone see a problem with that?
Any suggestions?
