is there a benefit on using copper wire isnt of aluinum wire for Serivces? Copper being expensive is it a selling point to use aluminum instead of copper?

One known advantage is that it will fit into a smaller raceway if you are limited by the size of existing pipe.

is there a specific type wire used for service in a riser? especially 4/0 and above. i have never seen risers with Aluminum larger than 4/0.
I usually see URD type inside conduit for riser. Is there another insulation type that is used??

Higher amperage wire and smaller wire.

Anything that is listed to be in sunlight. THHN, XHxx are both common.
