Has anyone ever heard of a "service" LB fitting? I was told that they are supposed to be bigger for more bending room used at services. Anybody?

I always thought that a service condulet was the one that didn`t extend beyond the conduit body. on the back end, kind of like a built in backset so to speak.Don`t think I have ever seen one in PVC though.

Here is what I believe to be a service LB

You are correct I sold them in my early days when I worked in a supply house. They were called SLB'S

Gserve, they still make those mogul LB's, but when you get into 2 1/2" and above you had better be sitting down when you see your cost!!!!!

In the past, if I were using 2" PVC for service entrance conductors and needed a little more "room to work" in the LB, I'd use a 2 1/2" LB with 2 1/2" to 2" reducing bushings and that worked well. The 2 1/2" LB is massive compared to the 2" LB and is only about $20 more.

I appreciated those back up north when after star drilling a hole through an 18 in blue stone foundation the last thing you wanted to do was chisel away some more for the LB.
