Working on a project that consists of a 350kva generator with a seperate radatior with 4 fans. The generator will be located inside the building and the radiator will be located outside. Are there any code requirements for a service light and receptacle for this type of equipment? I can't seem to find anything in the code book except for articles 210.63 and 210.70. I don't think a radiator for cooling a generator is considered HACR equipment, or is it? 210.70 doesn't specify any lighting for equipment outside. Thanks for your help.

I would think the gen.room needs a light.As to the fans outside i see no reason for a light,receptacle maybe.
I agree, the gens room will definitely need a light. I still can't find an article requiring the light and rec for the radiators. I did not mention that there will be 3 350kw generators in parrallel. Each generator will have a remote radiator. If the NEC doesn't require it, i think it would be good practice to have a rec and light just incase maintanence has to be done to one of the radiators at night during a loss of power. Any other suggestions or articles that i didn't find?
If it is an emergency generator, NFPA 110 might have some requirements for lights and receptacles. For example:
7.3 Lighting.
7.3.1 The Level 1 or Level 2 EPS equipment location(s) shall be provided with battery-powered emergency lighting. This requirement shall not apply to units located outdoors in enclosures that do not include walk-in access.
7.3.2 The emergency lighting charging system and the normal service room lighting shall be supplied from the load side of the transfer switch.
7.3.3* The intensity of illumination in the separate building or room housing the EPS equipment for Level 1 shall be 32.3 lux (3.0 ft-candles), unless otherwise specified by a requirement recognized by the authority having jurisdiction.

Think 2AM, rainy night, you are called out for a black out condition. I would want both regular lights and emergency lights with battery backup.
