Service Main

I had occasion to open up a service main on a commercial installation. Polyphase service. The electrican had wired the the breaker line on bottom and load on top lugs. Could not recall code article. Looked in 230, 408, 225. Nothing I could not find anything. Little help here please...Also the 3R cabinet didn't have "service Entrance rated" anywhere on it.
Thanks in Advance. Lyle

If the breaker is labeled line and load then the conductor must comply with that orientation otherwise it would not matter. As far as the lack of service rating I would look harder as most panels I have seen are rated as suitable for service equipment (SUSE)

I agree with both comments.

If it has a factory bonding screw/jumper, it very likely is rated as suitable for use as service equipment.

If the neutral is permanently bolted to the cabinet it may be rated only for use as service equipment.
