i currently have a 125 amp main service with a 60 amp sub panel installed in the garage. i am having a pool put in and need a 60 amp sub panel for the pool. since the sub panel in the garage is located close to where the pool sub panel will be, I am thinking it would be best to just up grade the sub panel in the garage to 100 amp. the way my house is wired is that all the 220 in the house is in the main panel and all the 120 is in the sub panel in the garage. to upgrade the sub panel in the garage i just need to pull new wire from the 125 amp main to the garage, rather than trenching through rock to run the pool service. I am planning to pull #1 awg ser cable to the garage from the main panel. the run is about 60 feet through the attic. the cable will have to pass through conduit to get from the outside main panel into the attic. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
