Doing a Service Upgrade, removed old fuse panel and meter cabinet.
Installed new 200A main breaker panel and meter cabinet.
New service panel is in basement on rear wall, new meter cabinet is on adjacent exterior wall to the left of the panel. The run of entrance cable
comes from the rear/back of the meter cabinet, through the exterior wall(vinyl over stucco) and into the basement. From there it enters the new panel after making a 90 degree turn down, and into the panel.
The overall run of entrance cable is less than 6 feet.
DO I NEED AN EXTERIOR(METER LOCATION) DISCONNECT SWITCH??
IF the service entrance wire was enclosed in a 2" rigid PVC conduit from the meter cabinet to the new service panel(passing through the exterior wall and one joist) would I need a disconnect?
Please help. Thanks.
