I live in upstate NY. I run into a lot of 400 amp services. Almost 100% percent of them use a 500kcml THWN-2 on over head service drops. Now I understand this will work and chances are will never hit full ampacity but if you were a stickler for the code shouldn't an over head service drop to a regular 400amp fused disconnect be 600 kcml?
