Dunlap Tenn. has a police of not bring power to a residential job, till it has a final inspection. I work in Michigan. and the power company up hear will bring in the service once you have a ruff on the service. Is this normal or not normal.
I have worked in 4 states and have 12 years in the trade and have never came across this. In trying to talk to the service planner all I could get from Him (no names) was "you all in Michigan. seem to think we do things slow down hear)
Is this just a matter of supply and demand.
Thanks Jay Newsom

Re: Service ????

Some jurisdictions will not give the meter until the final inspection has been passed in an effort to prevent premature occupancy of the building. Some will allow the meter to be set after a bond has been paid, which is refunded after teh completion of final inspection. Some will allow the meter to be set as soon as the job is ready.

I guess it really depends on how many times they have had an illegally occupied house.
