A wall by definition of the NEC, 210.52(A)(1)(2)(1),is 2'.

If a wall starts at a door opening and there is another door,30" wide, 2' away, then there must be a receptacle. Yes / No
I say Yes, what say you?

To carry this further, go 2' to yet another door, a receptacle is required there too. Yes / No
I say yes.

Re: SF Dwelling receptacle spacing...

Yes every section of wall in a dwelling unit habitable room larger than 24" requires a receptacle.

Re: SF Dwelling receptacle spacing...

Think of it like this every time you come to a door, opening or fire place strats a new wall section, a wall section needs a recptical with in 6' from the start. This works both ways also a door with a fixed panel starts at the moveable part.

Neither do I, but I do have a "Search Google Images" shortcut at the top of my screen.
:)

I was impressed with your home brewed floor plan

I wonder how long it will take those admins to figure out the traffic being directed to their jpgs are being linked off site, stealing bandwidth. :D

Re: SF Dwelling receptacle spacing...

As great and popular as this site is I doubt it adds more than a blip in bandwidth to those sites.

I try to limit myself to reasonable sized images.

All the best similes are also off site images.

Re: SF Dwelling receptacle spacing...

Locations often overlooked during a bid or rough in are: ?fixed panels in exterior walls? which is the no-sliding part of a sliding door, as well as ?fixed room dividers such as freestanding?railings? these hand rails are often overlooked and may require expensive floor outlets.
Also keep in mind though bathrooms, closets & laundries are not affected by this rule nor are hallways, which are in part (H) ?hallways of 10? or more in length shall have at least one receptacle outlet.? So a hallway 9?10?, (measured along the centerline without passing through a doorway.?), does not require a receptacle outlet.
