Just a heads up. The buildings get'n nearly done the shade guys shows up.

Hey were's my disconnects for the shade motors. That was an easy standard one phrase response.

Then he states that he needs a Cat-5 cable for the switch thats behind the Librarians desk, that's piped under the raised floor, 250' away. A CAT-5 is needed due to the switch which has a RJ-45 jack (sim. to 8 pin on your computer network card) Who knew ...

Well per drawings, and after a long conversation with my boss, I had ran 3 #12's and a ground. which I will be reworking tommorrow!

Well doesn't that beat all, It's now T&M for US, but why didn't they step in during the construction phase, This is not a small job, it would have been to the clients advantage, or is it the "Game" to spot the faults to back charge the client over...

I guess the key to the post is watch your low voltage requirements!
Even if Mr. Shade is not our subcontractor I know of other painful stories of the EC hiring low voltage work and truely getting burnt!
But thats another story for another day.

I think this little aspect of CAT 5 & RJ-45 just really slipped under everyones radar.
