Side Work??

Does any one know how to find out if I can do side work in the state of Idaho I am state certified journeyman but don't have a biz lic! I know in AZ it had a cap of $750.00 but I have been searching with no luck I thought maybe you would know where to look?

From the third paragraph of this page:

A person holding an active Idaho journeyman electrician license may make installations of electrical wiring and equipment as an employee of an active licensed Idaho electrical contractor. Anyone attempting to act as an electrical contractor in the state of Idaho must first obtain an Idaho electrical contractor's license.

I have a job that is in the pocket 21 rooms need some outlets and some strut supports for some future projectors they have 17,000$ to get it done!
Day late dollar short all the time!
 
That's a lot of work to do on the side.. Legality asside if the inspector catches you you'll be in trouble. Times are tough and sometimes getting a paycheck is pretty dang important. If you have to do it, do it on the weekend. What part of Idaho are you in?

What inspector?? Was the OP talking about doing illegal work or just side work that may be dangerous to his career if he gets caught.

BTW I say go for it 100%.
 
No I wouldn't do that if I did work for a company I would line the boss up with the job and just hope when it come time to lay someone off its not me when I work for a company its a 100% dedication I am not the type of guy or employee who has has his hand out those guys don't last very long!
I live in Boise Id great place to live and raise kids.
 
Well now that I am state certified Journeyman its takes 4 years after that till I can take my masters exam then I can become a electrical contractor!
So four years from now and you have to be a master electrician to own a company! This is the same state that requires no certification at all to be a contractor LOL!
