How fan can conduit (about 1 1/2"? dia.) cantilever out over a roof parapet with a fixture attached to the end? The fixture illuminate a sign on the side of a building.

I wonder when the parapet cap tiles will crack

Depends on the conduit. If it's rigid you could probably stick it out there 10' before it started to sag. I would think that with EMT that it would be more like 5', but if the inspector wanted to be picky he could say that you have to have a support within 3' of the fixture.

The ones in the photos are about 7 feet out and droop

Since the pipes are in compression on the tile I doubt the tile will break..unless the wind causes the pipe to bounce up and down.

With the amount of sag and the length involved I would think it is in violation of the support rules..and I would be concerned about the conduit being pulled loose from the roof.

Sorry, I didn't see the photo I just read the question, but that's not 1 1/2" pipe either. My guess would be 3/4, if that. Look at 344.30(A).
